Elly Mitchell, Client Service Manager at Visionary Accountants St Albans will compete in the SuperHero 10k run in London on 14thMay. Elly will run with her friend Katie Hardaker to raise funds for World Cancer Research Fund UK.
Elly Mitchell, Client Service Manager at Visionary Accountants St Albans said:
'Having lost my father to cancer in 2014, it seems fitting to run for the World Cancer Research Fund UK, in memory of my superhero! Everyone has been really generous and with two weeks to go we have raised £1,035 which is more than our £1,000 target. I am not a natural ‘runner’ but Katie is, so she has really helped motivate me throughout the training. In the New Year I decided to take up running as a new fitness hobby and started regularly running 5k. It has been hard to keep training especially through the winter, and I will be running 10k for the first time on the day. I am looking forward to the challenge, and I am determined to complete the course now that we have raised so much sponsorship for such a great cause.’
