National Minimum and National Living Wage

Reminder – Changes to National Minimum and National Living Wage from April 1st

You may have heard that the National Minimum and National Living Wage are set to rise together on April 1st 2018. Employers need to review their workers’ pay rates and take appropriate payroll action for those eligible in your organisation.

The new rates will be:

A worker must be at least school leaving age to get the National Minimum Wage and aged 25 to get the National Living Wage.

Apprentices are entitled to the apprentice rate if they are aged under 19, or aged 19 and over and in their first year of an apprenticeship.
