In February we emailed you regarding the Government’s intention to close the Childcare Voucher Scheme to new entrants in April 2018. Yesterday the Government announced its intention to extend the Childcare Voucher Scheme for a further six months beyond April 2018.

‘This recent decision follows concerns that the replacement scheme ‘Tax-Free Childcare’ does not provide a comprehensive package of support for working parents towards their childcare costs and, in some cases, the possibility that parents could face an increase in their childcare costs. As the voucher scheme is going to be kept open for a further six months we recommend any employees who are not currently using the Childcare Voucher Scheme review their options and check which scheme best suits their particular needs.
